True wisdom is to know what is likely to happen. These words can be best ascribed to Swami Jyothirmayananda, the Late Chief Sevak of Delhi Chinmaya Sewa Trust. He was the main architect who responded to the call given by the Board of Directors of the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Haridwar in 1987, for establishing a Science Degree College in their premises. Since then the efforts continued and the College was approved by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh on 13th March 1989. U.P. Government put the college on grant-in-aid list from 3rd Oct., 1994.
The history of its genesis rested on the collaboration with BHEL. Among those, who responded to our offer of Service and deserve mention in these pages, are Sri P.S. Gupta, the then Chairman, BHEL, Late Sri D.V. Bhatnagar, G.M.(I) and Sri R.D. Shukla, the then G.M. (P&A) , BHEL. The efforts culminated in laying the foundation of the College on 16th May 1989. The then Chief Minister, Sri Narayan Dutt Tiwari, inaugurated the College amidst the chanting of Vedic hymns and the blissful radiations of Pujya Gurudev's spiritual aura. College opened its portal for youth on 11th December 1989.
