Department : Botany
Introduction
The department of Botany at Chinmaya Degree College, Haridwar was established in 1989 at B.Sc level and total 80 seats are available in CBZ Group and 60 seats are available in Microbiology Group. Bachelor in Science degree comprises of 6 semesters, during first four semesters total of 4 core theory papers along with skill enhancement course( only in 4th semester) are taught and two theory DSE papers in 5th and 6th along with Skill enhancement course (only in 6th semester). 6 lab courses are also conducted during 6 semesters for the better understanding of analytical procedures.
Besides books in the central library of the college the botany department also maintains library which consist of number of books of eminent authors. Faculty members of the department are involved in teaching and mentoring students as well as in pursuing research. From time to time students are taken for field visit, excursions etc
